Happy Wednesday!
This week’s topic is The Hardest Thing I’ve Ever Written. Hmmm. Lately, everything has been hard, but that’s only because of outside reasons. The writing itself isn’t difficult; it’s the fitting it in among everything else, so that’s not an adequate answer to the topic. Don’t worry, I’ve got the answer.
The hardest thing I’ve ever written was The Deepest Cut.
It’s the first book in my new adult series, Albion’s Circle. I love the characters in this series. Seriously, I can’t even express how much I love them and how their story sucked me in. But the book was soooooo difficult to write. For several reasons. It was the first new adult book I’ve written. It was also the first time I was writing in first person. And I definitly let those things get all up in my head. Because that’s what I dooooo. š
Beyond that, there were scenes that were emotionally draining to write. Scenes with the two main characters – Merlin and Anna – in particular. They are probably two of the most complex characters I’ve ever written. I guess that comes from being reborn and living several lives over more than a thousand years. LOL
So, there you go – the hardest thing I’ve ever written. So far. š
Check out what was difficult for the other gals to write!
Bronwyn Green | Gwendolyn Cease | Jessica De La Rosa | Kellie St. JamesĀ | Ā Kris Norris
I’m so freaking glad you wrote it though. I love this series beyond the telling of it. <3
That makes me happy. I want ppl to love it as much as I do. š
I love this series so much!! And Merlin & Anna are the bomb. Oh and G’s not bad either. š
G’s awesome, but in comparison to the others? He’s fairly easy to write. LOL
Thank Christ at least one other person didn’t have a letter that made me cry. And it’s not just the scenes that are tough in this book. It’s all the other emotional stuff. So many feels. Love this book. Love this series.
Well, I’m glad I was a break from the emotional posts of the day. o.O
